The incredibly successful Left 4 Dead has once again hit a new milestone, but this time, it’s the sequel to the title. It is clear that Valve want to mirror the same success of Left 4 Dead with the second installment of the Left 4 Dead series.
Valve have announced that Left 4 Dead 2 has surpassed the 2 million sales mark within 2 weeks.
Vavle’s vice president of marketing Doug Lombardi had this to say:
Left 4 Dead 2 is off to a great start with strong support at retail and great reviews from the press.
Lombardi also added:
Meanwhile the title has already been played by over 1 million Xbox LIVE Gold account holders, and news regarding Left 4 Dead 2 DLC 1 is coming very soon.
Valve mentioned that the sales to date are “more than double” than that of the original Left 4 Dead. The first tile managed sell in the region of 1 million copies between November and December last year on the Xbox 360.
The DLC may indicate that we may be able to play as the next speculated L4D Survivors: The Midnight Riders.
