The future for Guitar Hero DLC may be changing as we speak.
In an interview with the Seattle Times, RedOctane co-founder Kai Huang was asked about the future of the Guitar Hero brand and other things Guitar Hero such as using the Project Natal technology for future games. Towards the end, Huang was asked if there would ever be monthly subscription-based service to the Guitar Hero catalog. Huang’s response:
That’s definitely one of the things we would love to do. There are a lot of issues around music licensing. Consumers want it; I know I want it. We’re trying to make that happen.
Comparisons are now being made to similar music services such as Rhapsody. Who knows what the future holds Guitar Hero DLC, but it would certainly be an improvement to have a music service to keep all Guitar Hero games close together and not forgotten about.
